So I pulled the plugs on my 1985 Johnson 20hp. They said it was a new plug from the old J77 plug.
I just wanted to see if anyone can take a look at these plugs and see if I am OK and the motor is burning as normal...
Any input is appreciated..johnsonplugs.jpg

They look like they're oil fouled. What's the # on those plugs ??

Those are Champion QL77JC4, I replaced them with Champion QL82C.
The motor runs perfect at all speeds.
What would you suggest? Am I running too slick?

Why did you go away from the QL77JC4 plug?

The manual said these were good also, so I figured I would try them.

id suggest a trip to the spark plug store then! nothing wrong with having a spare set of plugs on board.

If it's running good on the QL82C's, leave them in. It's also an optional plug for that mtr.
