My F200 4 stroke has left side rear foil "wing" broken off on lower casing.
1) Do i have to replace the entire assembly? I think so? Its very expensive.
The rest of machine in not damaged and there is no oil leaking?
2) is it still possible to operate it until i have it replaced..! Say for a month or so?
3) Can i have it alloy welded as i'm not sure of the effect on performance and stress on machine and boat.
Any advice or previous like experience would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks , Foto0068.jpg

You can run that anti-ventilation plate like that with no problem other than some possible extra water spray from that side of motor at speed. I'd just use it and enjoy it, then maybe during the winter/off-season, take it to a welding shop and get a piece of about 3/16" or 1/4" aluminum plate welded on there, file it down, some touch-up paint, and make it look better/make you feel better. Welder might charge you $50 or $75. If you could get the plate beforehand and shape it to fit yourself,it might fit and look better and save the welders time$$$....that's what I'd do, then just ask the welder, "please just weld this piece on for me" Good Luck!

i agree with poster above , we have a 1986 50ELJ that had a part missing like you did it ran for years with out it , but then we noticed the foot was cracking from the bearing carrier so we had it welded and as they did that they fixed the plate only charged us 40 bucks and now everything is fine .
