How can I find a year and model number for the 60 hp, 3 cyl Merc shown here? It's titled as a 1980 but the seller says it's more like an 83-84. Can't find a model number. Did find ser # 3548166. I think it has two carbs. It has a belt driven distributor which is inverted. Does this mean it's a breaker point ignition?
My only question in buying this boat is repairing the electric choke. The strap which connects the choke butterfly levers to the electric solenoid is broken. The part I need to identify and buy is a metal cylinder about 1/2" in dia and 1 1/2" long with a strap which pulls the butterfly levers when the solenoid magnet is energised.
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
