well i got a Q. i have a force 5-7y89b. no tach. however i have a tach on my wiring terminal. im sure its easy enough for a DIY to figure out but i already had a short issue once this spring and figured why not just ask first. i have a sonar guage in boat that doesnt work and could be a spot for an rpm guage. i have a hummingbird now so the cheesy sonar can be removed. are these easy to hook up? never was a gear head in my youth so ive never hooked up a tach. do i need a marine OB tach guage or any auto one work? seems i have a wire on my harness from the tach must be open under dash somewhere.

well i did find that most automotive wont work on 2 cyl engines. WOW gauges arent cheap are they. guess ill look for one from a morotcycle. im guessing they would work ok. dont really want to drop $50 on a guage. trying to fig out best prop to top end my engine safley without damageing engine from over rev.

you willl need a 20 pole tach, not many companies make them anymore. will have to look at home, just bought one last yr. Will get that info for you.
