been trying to remove gimbal bearing for a week and now finally its moved, but it only rotated the middle part.
what do i do and if i get the middle out can i just replace the middle from a new one.
thanks as always
i was using a slide hammer but it would not budge, i was finally able to apply pressure on it to just see if it would loosen it up. then it turned to the side as in the picture.the outer ring is still in there. thanks don a appreciate it
Don posted up a picture of the right slide hammer and 3 jaw puller to use a few days ago... I have been using that same set up for 20 years, and never had a bearing not come out....
if it was originally installed with slots fwd and you knock the bearing out, how do you get it back where it was?
and something funky looking with the pic.almost as if your looking at it from inside the boat.
All that looks like from that picture is that the bearing has rotated in the carrier (not come out)... he just needs to rotate it back to the original orientation and pull it out normally... (with a decent slide hammer)....
