I have a 60 hp mercury from 1995 and this started last year and only happened a couple of times and now is constant. I can take the engine out of gear and get the rpm's to 5500-5800, but when I put it in gear it does not go above 3700 rpm's and feels like it has about 20% power.
I have changed the fuel lines, cleaned out the fuel filter (not much there but a little), changed the diaphragm (sp?) on the fuel pump and checked all of my spark plugs.
None of these things has changed this AT ALL.
Any suggestions as to what to try next before I send it off to get looked at a shop?
