I just bought a 24 ft pontoon with an 85 Johnson 70 HP VRO. It starts right up n runs great at 1/4 throttle but dies 30 secs after accelerating. It has new gas new oil new plugs, and I've tried running with gas cap off to rule out suction in the tank starving it of gas. Any ideas, I have fam vomit in this week and I'm scrambling to fix this issue. I'm somewhat mechanical but kinda unfamiliar with OB motors. Any help would be great. Cell is 419-516-3740 if anyone wants to give me a call or reply here.
Thanks

Will it run properly if you keep squeezing the primer bulb, maybe you have a defective fuel pump.
Does the engine actually stall or just drop RPM's towards the low side, maybe you have some high speed orifices restricted or plugged.

Take the air box cover off and squirt some premix fuel in the carb throats when this happens. If it picks up and goes you'll know you have carb probs.
