1980 Johnson with power tilt and trim

i have a 1980 johnson Seahorse outboard and the motor has went out on the tilt and trim i used the manual release and the trim rods are still out when the motor is down need help with getting them down.:mad:

did you tighten the manual release back up before you tried tilting down?

Yeah we tighten the screw. We had the motor rebuilt works perfect thanks for replying
