Thanks in advance. I am replacing all the bellows on my 1996 Mercruiser Alpha one gen 2 and I have just taken off the hinge bolts and have loosened all clamps and am trying to pull the housing off. There is one hose which is for the gear oil that I just can't figure out how to get off (more importantly get back on when it's time). There is that nut inside the housing that keeps in place but it just does not make sense. I can't even get a wrench back in there. What am I doing wrong? You have to remove the hose from the fitting going through the gimbal housing. If it's the plastic fitting, it will probably break. If brass, cut the hose and replace the hose.
