air free sub install

I just bought an air free 10 inch marine sub. I have a 2008 Tahoe q4s, i was thinking of mounting the sub on the side of console facing out to the walk through area. After cutting the hole in the console do I need to reinforce the sub or will the self tapping screws going through face of the speaker hold?

They should hold just fine and if they don't then you can always switch to nut/bolt/washer combo.

..but honestly.. good luck on getting much if any sound out of that thing. You need resonance and between nothing behind and nothing in front, you're going to end up cutting a giant hole in your boat just for it to go WHOOSH..
