How tight should I tighten the nut on my prop? If I go too much, the prop doesnt turn freely. I loosened it and it seems to work ok. Just wonder if I should re-tighten now after running it.

You need a manual to get the correct torque. Most prop torques are on the low end - My '82 Mariner specifies 20-30 ft-lbs, for example.

While it may not be specs, you should be able to really grunt on the prop nut and have the prop turn freely. First state engine and year so we know with what we are dealing. Then find out why the prop is binding. Is the thrust washer missing?

Or do you have the right one?. You must ask your self, while changing my prop to a OEM or aftermarket. HAVE I missed something?.
