After coming off the water yesterday and doing my walkaround inspection I noticed a piece of fishing line around the prop. What is the best way to get this off? And how concerned should I be? I hear all the time about horror stories of fishing line wrapped around props, just wanna save me headaches later on.

Always say easier to fix "issues" before they become "problems".

Just take the lock nut and locking washer off the prop, remove it, pull off the line, have a look at your rear prop shaft seal to see if it is cut, lightly grease your prop shaft with Merc lube or Lubriplate marine and put it back together. Prop nut torque varies with the size of the engine. My 90 hp is spec'd at 55 ft-lbs.

Probably a good idea to remove your prop a couple of times a year to inspect for fishing line around prop shaft and under that seal.
