I have recently purchased my first boat, a 2000 Larson 186 sei with a Johnson 150 outboard. The first few outings it ran fine. I took it out on the lake this weekend (air temp was around 85-87, which was the hottest yet for the time i've had the boat if it matters) and encountered some problems. Starting up and idling, no problems. We went out no problem and engine running great. We stopped, shut down and had lunch. The engine then fired up fine, like new. We put it in gear and started applying power slowly, it bogged down and died before reaching about 1/8 throtle. Then fired up fine again no problem, put it in gear and applied throttle but the same thing occured. After several of the same attempts we finally set out after I applied throttle more rappidly(quickly shifting and going almost right to 1/4-1/2 throttle) and it worked fine. This was the only way i could get it to go. The rest of the way through the powerband it worked flawless. Going through no wake zones at idle it seemed to work fine at low RPMS and wouldn't bog. After startup and going after getting in gear seems to be the only problem. I poured fuel stabilizer at the last fuel up. Oil tank was about half full. I'm thinking it is a fuel system problem with the hoses, or valves/filters but Any help to solve the issue would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Oleg.
