Hey guys,
Just working on some projects on the boat. Many complain of sloppy steering on the V bottom sterndrives..
Mine moves very free with no effort (on the wheel) and the boat will react to .5" movement in the wheel. It seems like its loose, but its actually effecting the boat with very small, sensitive movements.
The drive does not move much when wiggled back and fourth.
I have tightened the steering cable nut in the steering piston.
What can I do to tighten it up and make it a tad easier to drive? When I drop the tabs, it helps, but I am trying to get the wheel to feel firmer when steering.
