I am wanting to know what the recommended plugs are for a '89 85HP Force engine. My manual calls for a Champion UL-18V but I've read posts of people using different plugs so maybe my manual is outdated and there's a better option now. Can someone share their experience with other plugs such as the NGK BUHX and NGK BUHW and how do they compare with the Champion UL-18V.

Plugs are plugs! They all will perform the same. You can use Champion UL18V or L20V. You can also use NGK BUHX or BUHW. However if I remember correctly Champion UL18V and NGK BUHW arte the preferred plugs

I have to agree with Frank whole heartedly. I jumped on the trying different brands bandwagon a while back, and guess what I found out..... I just wasted a whole lot o' money on extra plugs! I felt and saw no difference between the 3 different brands tried.
