Routing transducer wire over transom instead of through it.

I was wondering how many have run their transducer wires over their transom. The plug on my Elite-4 dsi is kinda big. and the size of the hole lol is oh no... My boat is a starcraft 2212.
In my old Mako the wires ran over the transom.

No problem. Electricity will follow the wire. It doesn't care if the cable passes over or through the transom.

Do you have an O/B? Runn the wire through the boot that your fuel line/steering cable runs through.

You can do it that way, but the cable will be more vulnerable to damage.
