I HAVE 1994 200HP MERCURY OUTBOARD MOTOR. I REMOVED LOWER-END MYSELF AN TRY TO GET IT APART, BECAUSE THE OIL SEAL WAS LEAKING OIL. I DID NOT HAVE ANY OF THE SPECIAL TOOLS NEED TO REMOVE THE LOWER BRG. CARRIER. SO I END UP TAKING TO MERCURY DEALER FOR REBUILDING. THEY DID A GOOD JOB. NOW I TRIED REINSTALLING THE LOWER-END AN LINE UP THE WATER TUBE AN STUDS AN IT WON"T MAKE-UP! WHATS THE DEAL, DO I HAVE TO SHIFT IT IN GEAR AN IF SO, HOW DO YOU SHIFT IT IN GEAR?

PLEASE HELP

Re: mercury 200hp lower -end refurbished

Gary;

Your s/n comes up as a model:

1200422PD MERCURY 1994 200

Parts Listing:

http://www.crowleymarine.com/mercury-outboard/556.cfm

Service Manual P/N: 90-824052

http://1manual.com/Mercury manuals/Service Manual PDFs/TwoStroke/824052r3/cover.pdf

You must have Adobe Acrobat reader installed to use this manual. If you scroll down to the lower part of the opening page, you will see the various engine components in red. Click on the one you want and when the first page opens, click on the "Save As" icon at the top LH corner of the page and you can save it to your computer.

If you have the RH rotation LU, you will see the installation procedure under Section 6, Right Hand Rotation, page 6A-56

If you try to gently rotate the prop in it's present state, will the prop turn one way or the other or both directions freely?
