ok, getting boat ready,
had it fired upo briefly.
checked oil...and it is slime.

how do i get it out?
i have tried sucking thru the dipstick but does not wanna work....
can i fill engine with diesel fuel? and try to dilute things?

of course i will refill with new oil after and run, then drain again.
but how do i get the crap out now?

oh yeah....

odds are the block is cracked. (unless rain water was pouring in somewhere) Pressure test the cooling system and follow the hissing. Was it winterized properly?

I wouldn't waste a dime on oil before pressure testing the cooling system, but if it passes a pressure test, go buy a few filters and the lightest grade of engine they sell at the store - 0W20 or whatever and keep changing the oil until it is clean

diesel fuel not a good idea - could cause rear main seal to leak, and gaskets to fail.

undo the dipstick tube and remove the fitting from the bottom of the oil pan to drain.

to pressure test, block hoses to manifolds at red x's and put regulated pressure (5 or 10 psi) to thermo hsg at green arrow.

block both ends of the hoses? pressure up with air or water? how long should it hold?

Re: milky,goopy engine oil

undo the hoses from the manifolds. find bolts (5/8) or something -broom handle or whatever you can clamp in them to block them - tighten the hose clamps onto the bolts.
then undo the hose from the intermediate hsg and feed regulated air pressure in to the engine thermo hsg- the idea is to listen for the hissing.
you'll know instantly if it's cracked.
what makes you think it was rain and not a frozen engine - was it winterized?

here's one unwinterized 3.8 to give you an idea of where the hissing will come from

Re: milky,goopy engine oil

should she hold any pressure?
it should hold ALL pressure. what ever you feed it - 100% must be held. If it is hissing, there is a leak.
It's not like an outdrive where you pump it up and it holds.... you put regulated air in and if it hisses, it's cracked. The cavities inside an engine are much larger.

Not hissing is good......put a valve and a gage on it so you can remove the air supply and see if it holds pressure.

It should hold it quite a long time.

If it's leaking, the gage will start dropping as soon as you close air supply valve.
