Here's my set up..
14 foot deep v tracker aluminum boat
Short transom height
25hp yamaha long shaft motor

So I believe i know what's wrong(I need to raise
My motor 5 inches up) but I'll see what you all have to say. Any ways, when I get going anything more that half throttle I get a lot of spray coming off the motor which follows the transom up and eventually spills into the boat. It's not a lot, but it does add up. Basically I have water spraying straight to the side of the boat off the transom. Hope that makes sense.

Also, when I go wot from a stop my engine revs and I lose drive, then it grabs again..why? Is it all because my motor is to deep in the water and it's causing it to cavitate?

Thanks everyone!

Do you have any pictures of the boat on the tailor with the motor down? Might be able to shim? If it's down too low shouldn't be splashing in the boat(I could be wrong) unless you have a fish finder mounted wrong on the transom.

Too much motor in the water will splash water back in the boat.

before you alter the transom, consider "trading" the motor. 25's are not hard to sell.

Cavatation is caused by the prop set too high. Sounds like you might have a spun prop or something else going on.

You already knew the problem.
Either sell the outboard or buy/build a jackplate.
