I just typed up my plans with my two boats and everything I was going to do to combine the two, all to make the best boat I can! It got deleted somehow with my nosey fingers running around the keyboard a mile a minute! Lol.... This time, I'll jump straight into the question - and hope for a semi quick response!!
Here's the deal... I have a '68 Evinrude Triumph 55HP, fully rebuilt, top to bottom, runs like it came off the showroom floor! But the only problem is (so far
) on the said boat, THE ONLY tank I have is a 5 gallon creek crawler! Not getting far with 5 GALLONS!!!! Both the motor AND the tank have the standard "two prong" connections (for lack of better terminology) like MOST small/medium size outboards... BUT I HAVE A SAVIOR! If this thread can save ME FIRST! lol....
I have an 18 gallon aluminum tank that I have a question about! It fits PERFECT in the backside of my boat (the seller of my OTHER boat gave it to me, it had been kept in storage with rags in the holes and EVERYTHING for almost 20 YEARS!!!! It's in GREAT condition!) And the boat already has the fuel fill hose, ground wire, AND vent hose that is all aimed PERFECTLY for this tank! If I didn't know better, I'd think this boat had THE EXACT SAME tank on it at one time!! Haha...
Nonetheless, here's the question! HOW DOES this connection work on the tanks end? I have a picture of it posted below... can I just take off the "two prong", "quick connector" on the hose and connect it to the tank's fitting with a hose clamp?
I'm not sure if that fitting on the top of the tank needs a "special" hose connector or something - due to the ball in the center! I DO HAVE A PRIMER BULB ON THE HOSE! I also know that the big hose fitting coming out the top is the fill line, the small one next to it is the vent line and the screw is where the ground wire goes! Like I said, it's like my boat is "WIRED" FOR THIS TANK!! So this would be a money saver if I don't need some type of weird connector for the TANK'S end of the hose! ANY help is appreciated, as I would love to have 18 gallons and not worry about running 'er out! Plus it'll be a STATIONARY tank and fill-able from the boats "side" (again, lack of memory/terminology lol) Thanks y'all!!
