Wont idle after a hard run 500hp 1969

I have an issue at idle after the motor has been run at full throttle. I went to slow down and the engine slowed way down and you could hear the trans slip out of forward.(new) She runs great until I do this. I had the same issue before I rebuilt the carb for leaking and It would not run right. It is a rebuilt carb I did myself. Floats are measured right I hope. New fuel lines rebuilt fuel pump. Rebuilt the pump and put fresh oil in LU. Any ideas?? Stick needle in carb? Not enough fuel. I will let it rest for 15 min and the bulb for priming wont completely fill or be hard in this time frame.

You might have a restriction from the tank to the bulb.
