I have a 1987 bayliner with omc 3.0 it had a 51amp prestolight alternator in it that stopped working.
My friend gave me a delco 68 amp alternator.
I looked up part numbers and they match but the delco has a red and black wire off the back and the prestolight did not have wires it has a red/purple and purple wires that plug on to terminals on the back.
If anyone can tell me if you can use it or do I need a new alternator? Or which wires do I hook together if it will work.
