Hey guys, I have a project that i am working on and it should be linked in my sig if i did everything right....
anyways, plan on doing what i need to do to fix her right, however, at this point, my funds and time are limited, not to mention the wife doesn't talk to me about the boat purchase
(source of a sore spot).
My thoughts...repair what I have now, stopping at the stern side of the deck storage area, build a very slight "v" shaped bulkhead pointing to the stern to drain water from the bow area over the course of the summer. the bottom of the vee would have a drain tunnel (thinking pvc pipe cut in half length ways then laid with flat on hull) to the bilge area. Then when money is saved up, finish the bow area over winter.
I would complete the "stern side" of my project so I can get the boat out on the water and hopefully over the course of the summer, gain favor in the eyes of my sweet heart, who incidentally, was very sweet until i got the boat:redface:. I was thinking on leaving the bow intact, ie...leave it untouched thus not disturbing the foam, frame, stringers, etc...
I am pretty sure my bumper rail is the source of all my woes so I will be taking that off and tweaking any areas of concern. I'm thinking that by doing it this way I can keep some sort of rigidity in the hull because I'll have new foam butted up to old foam by way of a bulkhead separating the two areas.
I hope this makes some sense as to what I am trying to do. please let me know what you guys think. I can't get it all done and can't have it sitting all summer either.
thanks
