Replace Trim Sending Unit

Hello,
Need some advice on changing trim sending unit on my 96 SX.
I have located the sender and where the wire goes thru the hull but my question is, How do you access it?
There is no room to get your hands into the lower unit to access it. Not even a long needle nose.
Inside is just as bad.
Do I need to remove anything to access inside and out?

You have to remove anything and everything needed to get to it.
Personally, I can change them without pulling the drive or bellhousing, using forceps and long curved needle nose pliers. Inside, I can usually get to the clip. One boat had to pull the engine because there was no access.
