Some previous owner of my current boat . painted and cleared about 4 square feet of one side.Is ther anything I can apply that wont tear up the gelcoat but will soften the paint??

I recently used aircraft paint stripper made for fiberglass. Don't recall the name at this time...got it at Worse.....um....West Marine. Check here on iboats.
