Deck rot by lift pump 1979 Century 19ft

Can you replace only the last foot or so of the deck that seems to be a bit rotted on both sides of the engine?
The worse spot is under the tilt pump screws.
Dose this mean I probably have bad stringer problems also?
Were Centuries know to rot or were they well built?
Any tips on checking for rot elsewhere appreciated.

You can check the stringers with a screwdriver or awl by poking at them. They should be solid. I have a 1980 Century 190 that had some rot on the deck just in front of the engine. Fixed that section & didn't find any other rot.

Where do you get @ the stringers arent they all under the deck?
