Hi folks, I just recently got back into boating. Ive had this boat for about 10 years but it hasnt been on the water in about 3 years. I just got a new position at work so I have time to play again!!

So I went to order some parts here but I'm not sure if I have the gearcase 25 or 35? The parts I need have different part numbers for each gearcase. I've searched the site but couldn't find an answer. Is there a way to tell?
The motor is a 1978 Johnson seahorse. Model 35el78r.
Thanks for your time.

The model number says it is a 1978 35hp, I would use the 35hp parts.

That's what I was thinking. But every site I've looked at for parts asked for the model # and then asks if it's gearcase 25 or 35. I don't want to order the wrong stuff, lol

If your exhaust exits through the prop hub its gearcase 35.....otherwise 25.....simple as that.
