1994 Sunbird Corsair 180SL with a 4.3L OMC Cobra.
Lake was down a foot and hit some rocks with a SS prop. Sacraficial aluminum props from here on out.... But my prop shaft is out of round.
From research, 94 was a transition year for the OMC parts. But my boat could have been built with 93 parts.
The printed sticker on the valve cover is worn off and can't find a stamped metal with the serial on the engine to identify the year of OMC I own. Lower unit serial is T0782478 with a 1.66 ratio. Trying to find the right prop shaft to replace.
Built my first hotrod when I was 19 so mechanical ability isn't an issue. Are there any tricks to remove the prop shaft? Special tools I need?
Anyone use a QuickStraight shaft straitener tool?
Being a gambler, it looks like you could use a small hydro jack between the prop and the lower unit to bend the shaft strait again, anyone ever attemp such a procedure?
Thanks for the help guys,
Chris
