150 Fast strike

I have a Johnson 150 fast strike that will start and run as long as you hold the key. As soon as you let go of key motor dies any Ideas would be appreciated?

You might post year or model number so we know what kind of ign system you have.

the year is a 1997 Johnson 150 don't know the model #
