I have a 40 hp two cycle tracker motor 1996 that trolls and idles great. I recently was running it on a lake under full power when it lost the full power for about 3 to 4 seconds and then would power back up again, repeatedly. I never backed off on the throttle. Also, maybe another symptom might be the fuel gauge and the tach are spiking eratically.
