Have you actually had a problem with phase separation with e10? Yes, it can happen, but far fewer people actually have the problem than what they blame e10 for. Most of the e10 problems are because it is a nice solvent that cleans out the junk that regular gasoline deposited in your carbs, lines, and tank.

I drained my built in tank best I could then put 10 gallons 50:1 mixed gas back in and waited about 3hrs. Took the gas line off the motor,squirted about 120z into a glass jar and the bottom 1/8th or so looks like oily water. Using Octane 87 which has 10% Ethanol.
