I know this has been ask a thousand times but I need some help. I have a motor guide brute force 667 12/24 trolling motor I think it's a 1989 model. Came with the boat. Problem is the 2/12/24 switch is bad plus the foot push switch is bad. I've tried to put battery wires as follows B1 ground to motor, B1 positive to B2 neg. B2 positive to motor. But the problem is the foot switch has to be wired different. I would like to leave the battery's as is and just cross the wires at the 12/24/ charge switch, also in the foot switch. That way I can still charge batteries without unhooking wires. It will run on 12 volt but when it's windy it's hard to control boat. Prefer 24 for better battery power. Thanks for helping this ole country boy out.

Re: 12/24 problem

So if the switches are bad, replace them. There are way too many 12/24 wiring schemes and since we have no idea what your panel looks like it is only a guess as to what you need to do. I used to try to help diagnose these systems but have simply given up because most of them have been mucked with by previous owners so it really a chore to straighten it out unless someone has an identical panel that has not been messed with. Sorry pal. I feel your pain.
