My wife has four-stroke envy so I'm buying a Yamaha 90hp and selling my 1986 Johnson 2-stroke 90hp. It's in pretty good working order. I've had it for two years and it's been regularly serviced. I've never sold an outboard before so I don't have a clue as to what to price it. Please help me out...

Outboard prices vary largely by location and season. Comb Craigslist in your area for an idea of what that motor would be worth. Comb ebay to get an idea of what that motor would go for in other areas. From there, you can make a determination of what is a good starting price to offer it for. Take note of motor year, and whether or not they include the controls. Vary your price according to whether it is still on your boat or not, and whether you can run it for a prospective buyer. Good luck.
