9.8 hp Mercury won't run at WOT

I recently purchased a 1973 Mercury 110, motor is in good shape. Owner had it for 20 yrs, and used it as his kicker. He said it had some Carburator issues when I boat from him, messed around with it for a bit, turned out the float wasn't working propperly.

The motor starts, idles GREAT!!!!!! but as soon as I put into gear and crank the throttle, the motor boggs right down and seems like its almost flooding. As soon as I release the throttle to idle, it burns blue smoke like crazy for about 30 sec, and returns to normal. I did get it to run good at WOT for about 10 seconds, even cracked my bucket, but haven't gotten it to do it since.

already checked:
-spark plugs
-spark wires
-points
-fuel pump
-carb
-gonna check compression tonight, had to find a gauge.
-ignition coils seem good, not sure what to look for ??

Any idea out there ???? would love to have this motor running :)

Is there any chance that the float isn't letting enough fuel into the bowl?
Perhaps clogged high speed jet.
Compression must be good for it starts and runs.
Spark advance must be working for it starts.
Hope this helps.

I was thinking high flow jet too, but not really sure how to go about fixing it.

Hmmm.... float problems.... too much fuel?

Starts well. Idles well. Begin to throttle up and then begins to foul. Does not achieve full throttle status and does not stall out. Stays running but fouled. Blows blue smoke when throttles down.

Does the unit blow blue when throttled up and fouling?

What's the main jet at and what is it supposed to be? May be enlarged.
Check float height. May be too high, letting in too much fuel.

When I bought it the guy said he had to rebuild the carb, but wasn't able to get it to run right since. I was able to get it started but it would stall out right away, I figured it was flooding, adjusted the float a little bit, and now it idles just fine.

It smokes like crazy when I throttle up, and my water bucket gets all murkey.

I just checked compression got 115 on cyl#1 and 120 on cyl #2.

I just found an exploded view of the carb, I think I might be missing the main fuel jet all together...lol
