Yamaha 40hp 4 stroke problem

I got a 2005 40 yamaha 4stroke, i have had the carbs repaired about 2 years ago and now im having issues with it not starting unless the choke is up. It will run with choke up but will not idle. Also after it starts up it will smoke for a little bit. Any advise will be muh appreciated.

looks like it is again time to clean the carbs
I have heard that that motor has very small jets/passages and plugs up easy

Make sure to run an external 10 micron filter/ water separator and do not let the fuel sit long and go bad

If you are not using Stabil Marine in your fuel you can expect fuel related problems like blocked carbs.
