What is the tube and fitting on lower unit opposite of prop side?

imagejpeg952.jpgSo do any of y'all have any idea what this fitting and tube are in the picture?Only thing I could come up with is maybe a vent tube for changing the lower unit lube or for winterization,I don't know if Im close or not?

That is the speedometer sender. Down below the cavitation plate in the front of the case is a small impact hole water pressure goes up the leg and through the tube. The tube needs to be attached to another plastic tube that runs forward to the speedometer.

Its a Force 120 but Im not sure on the year as its a friend of mines motor Bentle! All I mess with is motors from the 50's and early 60s and all under 20 hp...
