I am having trouble hooking up the control cables for my 1991 28hp johnson. I attached both cables, in neutral, to the new binnacle throttle control, which accepts omc cables. The problem I am having is with the shift cable it only shifts when the throttle is placed in reverse it seems to pull the cable only. Any suggestions? If I were to swap the cables at the motor they don't line up with the linkages, too long to attach to throttle arm.
