hi id like to add a kicker to my 19 ft renken not sure how to rig it up any input appreciated

hanks for reply new to this so bear with me, ok i have a 7.5 ted williams,was in dads garage for years got it running great my ideas to have the kicker steer with boat steering.and add a throttle control. is this common.? or do most people use tiller.im fishing erie and not only want to slow boat,but want sucurity of another power sorce,
