I just converted a SS 1980 35HP to long shaft. Since I virtually had to disassemble the entire engine to do this, I decided to paint it. It's all back together now and it looks and runs great. The problem is that I have one part left over. The part is 323107 and it is item 78 in the parts diagram for the exhaust housing. Unfortunately, the diagram is a little ambiguous as to exactly where this part goes. I'm having difficulty imagining exactly what this part would do anywhere near where it is shown in the diagram. Help please!

They call it a mount housing bumper.
Doesn't it go between #'s 25 and 17 towards the bottom?

Yep... That installs between the two bottom motor mount brackets in a vertical position.

Yep, that's where it goes. Now I see why I had no recollection of taking it out. When you remove the 'clamshells' of the lower mount, it just falls out. I probably just picked it up off of the floor and said I'll figure out where this goes later. Thanks to all for the help.
