Hello,

I have a 60 hp 2 stroke mercury on the back of my bass tracker pt175 and was wondering what you guys though would be the best RPM to run the engine at and what not to go over when adjusting the trim. Suggestions are appreciated!

Thanks
Stephen

Re: Mercury RPM

I believe the recommended rpm range is 4500-5500, or very close to it.

I set mine up to run at 5500 rpm at WOT, with a very light load in the boat.

Re: Mercury RPM

Mercury recommends 3/4 throttle cruising speed. Of course, this assumes you are setup to get the WOT RPM to about the top of the range.

Get on plane, trim it out... RPMs and speed build, find that 3/4 spot and she'll get decent MPG and be in a nice zone if you need to slow or speed up a little.
