This motor will not run unless I hold my hand over intake. If I dont it will fire up Idle up and die I cleaned carb yesterday
No difference, I took carb off again and have soaked it over night, Any suggestions on cleaning jets? Im guessing low speed jet is clogged? Maybe run a small wire through it? Any suggestions would be appreciated

Thanks

You need to clean things up real good and then look for what the oil is and where it is coming from, as we can not see anything from this side of computer screen.

What did you soak it in and did you take it completely apart before soaking and blowing out all passages and jets?

Did you adjust like the manual says?

Thank Yam I got the running issue solved purrs now. As far as oil leak. I pulled lower unit . If you look up in the leg you can see a little drip of crankcase oil coming down. inside on top no oil clean , dont see powerhead gasket leaking down from were it bolts together. looks like maybe bottom gasket?

heres a pic, its driping up by bolt heads on each side Not the exhaust bolts but upper ones by spline gear Not out of the spline & not out of bolts but on the sides up there depending on which side I lean it when tilted....Junk it?

Hard to say where it is coming from, probably need to pull power head and see what you can see.
Corrosion, gasket, or seal are my guesses

Im hoping gasket. Im guessing pulling powerhead is straight forward. Guess Ill dig into it. hopefully it will be obvious once I get it removed. 1 drip causes all this work u would think they could come up with a better design for oil pan.
