Hi everyone. Ive got a 1984 50 horse evinrude motor that I've had for years. Last year while running in extreme chop my engine would seem to get water in the cylinders. my plugs would not fire because of this leaving me at the mercy of my backup kicker to get me back to port. the engine is fine when i run it in nice waters although the plugs do appear . to have some water moisture on them when i remove them for inspection. How is this condensation getting in. I'm going to replace the head gasket and t stat. compression is 160lbs per cylinder. My email is jglite@aol.com

Might be head gasket, might be exhaust gasket. However it might even be water in your tank getting mixed with fuel in choppy sea??
