shift cable instal help..

The cable is in place, i'm trying to tighten the bolt but its like the cable is fighting me as i try to turn it. Any tips or tricks? The cable won't spin in the boat for me, I guess its a funny angle.

You didn't hook the cable up inside the boat did you?

lol no.. I put some lube on the line and twisted it like an old fashioned drill on the inside and it went thanks.

Did you only replace the inner cable and not the outer shell? They need to both be replaced at the same time.
Or is it the outer that won't turn? You did leave the bellows off til the cable end was tightened, right?
If the inner cable is in the boat at a relatively straight angle you can tighten the outer end on the bell housing, then route the inner end to the shift plate. And after that you insert the inner cable from the transom end.
