I just bougtht a used boat that cam ewith a 1964 Merc 350 2-Cylinder. The seller didn't winterize the lower and it has since cracked. I posted pictures in an alternate thread with the crack. Thanks for the feedback-seems to make most sense to buy a "new" used lower. To my question:
The casting # on the lower I own I found is 1626-2040. I searched ebay and found a lower housing that matches that casting # but I need a complete lower as there are some other parts that are cracked as well. Would love to hear any suggestions as to what I can do? Are there any shops that you guys suggest I call? Will alternate casting #s fit my casting #? I would really, really love to keep the engine as it runs fine - obviously excluding the lower.
