OMC 115 turbojet.... The jet unit is fried please help!!!!!

My wife and I bought a rage 15 for some fun on the lake this summer. Our second time out while idling the shoreline in deep water the engine just stopped running. Wouldn't even turn over for me... Took the boat to the machanic the next day where we found a bad seal in the inside of the jet... All the oil leaked out of the gear case and COMPLETELY fried the jet unit. I was quoted $2200 for labor and parts....
Is the any remedy, kit, conversion tips that might help me...

I'd try posting in the outboard forum as the powerhead is basically a Johnson/Evinrude 115 and the outboard side of omc supported these. My first thought is start looking for a similar powered boat with a blown powerhead to buy cheap.
