can anyone help me find out what trim motor i need? ( pic included)

It has been one thing after anouther with this motor. rebuilding carbs tomorrow then all that should be left is finding a new trim motor for my trim and tilt unit.I cant seem to find any trim motor part # when searching with serial # (5446982). According to serial # the motor is a 79 merc 50. Trim unit mounts inside the boat. But when searching on crowlymarine im not seeing any 79 50 mercs with trim and tilt? I cant find any # on the motor accept for motor SAE J1171 which i assume is for oil? The # on the trim unit says , ( first # missing) 2975A24. nothing seems to come up under that #. I called a local dealer and he wouldnt give me the part #, said I had to come in and purchase from him. very frustrating! I just want to finish this and go fishing. Lol

Thanks for the response Gerry. I just looked into SAE J1171 a little more. Its not really a part #. It is a standard for all marine electrical components. http://forums.iboats.com/showthread.php?t=540870
I guess im back to the drawing board. I need to figure out a part # to make sure I order the right motor.

The missing number is a (9) 92975A24, You can google the number.

In the parts catalog i can not find the A24 number but here are all the numbers that are very close to it,

While looking, i first found 92975A6 then as you can see it superseded all the way up to 92975A32.

92975A32 is still an active number.

There used to be an aftermarket PTT motor and resevoir which might fit. Try Arco and see if one looks the same as you unit. You will need to match it exactly as the armatures of the motor can be different lengths.
