Does anyone know what year or model name of this boat is , i bought it and the trailer for 700.00 and i want to know what size engine to get for it , any help would be appreaciated this is my 1st watercraft and i am pretty green at all this 23523068_640.jpg23523069_640.jpg

Welcome to iboats.

Look for a USCG label for motor size and loading capacity

It is always recommended that you have a motor that is least 75% of the capacity at a minimum

I have no clue on the make/model

Thanks ! good guide to have . The previous owner ran a 40 HP and i probably start looking for something 30-40 i am assuming but i will make sure i get the proper motor for that size vessel .

Looks like an early '70s Sunray. Can't say for sure, but most likely 60 hp would be max. 30 HP wll be underpowered, 40 hp will give you enough speed for cruising but not enough for skiing. 50 or 60 would be well suited.
It looks like a 14' model. If it is a 16', max maybe 75 hp.

You should be able to get the year from the title, and that thier should be a data plate on the back some place that has the HP ratings.
