No water flowing out of pee hole on 1979 mecury 175 hp (need help)

I have a 1979 mecury 175 hp outboard i just bought. The engine starts fine and has 115 comprrsion on all six cylinders. I recently changes the water pump with complete kit. and thermostats. i can not get this engine to pee. Can it be something bigger or worse? When on the muffs. watter bearly trickles out of tube. It is unclogged and clear. There is also exesive water comming out of the exhaust holes in the mid shaft area. I dont think this is normal. Need advise.

ITs best to run those motors in a drum or big water tank I have a 90 hp inline six and it dont pump worth a dam on the muffs.OR back it in at the landing and run it there.

Should pee after Tstats are open when engine warms up.Mine just spits till 145 deg then squirts hard when stats open.If not...make sure you lined up water pipe correctly.Water should also be coming out of prop.

The "pee tube "on that model should come off the exhaust plate, this model if the adapter plate gasket is leaking will dribble like you describe.

Thanks everyone, Is it normal for the water to flow to gush out of the exhaust ports on the mid shaft area after about 1-2 minutes of running? I dont recall this as being normal on my 150 hp. What would cause this? The tube is alingned properly. I checked it three times.
