I have a 1979 Johnson 115 that was rebuilt 3 years ago. I have only 80 hours on the rebuilt engine. I starting to have problems starting it last year. It starts fairly hard when cold but it has a really hard time starting when warm. I do not know where to start looking to solve this problem. Thanks for any help.

Re: Starting problems

I would start with a couple quick tests, spark and compression. Spark should jump a 7/16" air gap and compression should be somewhere around 110-120, maybe a little higher, and even on all cylinders. If those check out, I would move to the fuel system, have the carbs been overhauled?
