hello...so i bought an engine block recently and found out that it has already been bored to .030. when it got cleaned the mechanic found spots in the cylinder that cant be honed out. he said he needs to put sleeves in two of the cylinders and bore them out to .040 or possibly to .060. my question is, where can i get used/reman .040 or.060 pistons and rings for a 2.5l mercruiser..any suggestions would be greatly appreciated

Ayuh,.... Welcome Aboard,.... Scrap it for the cash, 'n find yerself a rebuild long block 3.0l motor, 'n bolt on yer accessories to it....

It'll be WAY Cheaper... with the potential for a Free 20 hp...
